The Weighty series weight forward floating line is a versatile line that lends itself well to both fresh and salt water. The 30ft head weight for the weighty series is an over weighted grain on the AFFTA approved fly line weight specifications. This unique taper translates into a line that offers easy loading on fast action fly rods and is great option for fly casters who struggle to get their fly rod loaded. Fast to extra-fast fly rods generally require a heavier weighted/grained fly line to easily and effectively load them but with the weighty you can choose weight for weight line to rod pairing
The Taper
The heavy weight forward taper on the Weighty series is the ultimate line for the large river and estuary fly angler. The taper has a slight shortened head design offering quicker loading and improved accuracy ,while the moderate length belly lends itself well to performing longer casts with accurate presentation in wrapped up in one fly lines. The longer front taper and shorter read taper allow you to accurately shoot out line when needed but also turn over nymphs and strike indicators easily. The 30ft head weight on the Weighty range is even heaviest taper we offer apart from the salty range
The over weight front taper and longer rear taper allow you to easily load fluffy flies for Large Mouth Yellows and Esturine species. The taper lends itself well to larger flies and fast to extra fast action fly rods
The Core
All our fly lines at Reel Fly Fishing make use of a multi-strand braided core construction. The advantages of our braided core technology mean no stretch, no memory and vastly improved feedback into your fly rod and hands. PE/Polyethylene is an incredible strong fiber that makes up the core of all RF Fishing lines. Braided fibers offer high strength to weight and diameter ratios but also gives fly lines some rigidity or back bone. Utilizing the rigidity provided by braid we can adjust the coating parameters for each specific fly fishing line giving you the best performance in each respective area. Braided multi-strand cores give our fly lines almost zero memory, and make the fly lines incredibly limp
