Description
Grunter occur on our coastline from the Western Cape to Kosi Bay. They are most abundant in early summer and frequent estuaries, rivers and sandy beaches. They feed mainly on marine wroms, crabs, sealice and mud prawns. Feeding takes place mainly at night. The best place to fish for Grunter are in estuaries, river mouths and sandy beaches. They are very shy feeders and one should not strike too soon when they first take the bait. Wait until the fish takes the bait and moves off with it before striking
Mud prawns, sealice, prawns and crayfish are excellent baits for cathing Grunter
